From Gnocchi to Sinatra: The VIP Opening of Stella Rossa.

This past Saturday we were spoiled rotten at the VIP Opening of Stella Rossa Ristorante, literally, from Gnocchi to Sinatra. There was already a buzz around Downingtown about the new Italian Restaurant opening by the amazing Dave Magrogan Group, so it was no surprise that the VIP Opening Party was the hottest ticket in town.

All dressed up we made our way in and were greeted by glasses of champagne.  Sipping on the yummy bubbly we were mezmirised by the 7,000 square foot space and it’s décor, elegant but simple. There are booth seats covered in rich red leather, elegant single tables, beautiful wooden light fixtures and elegant white light fixtures which are contrasted by classic white walls.

The kitchen is visible to all, which was amazing to see the creations that Chef DiPascale had pouring out on trays being brought around by the friendly servers.  The night was made even better by a very talented Frank Sinatra impersonator who had everyone dancing and singing.

The atmosphere and the food itself was truly pieces of art   The selections that night included: Steamed Mussels, Mozzarella Fritte, Arancini (Classic Fried Risotto) just to name a few.

The food wasn’t the only yummy thing, the drinks were incredible too! We had (quite a few) Strawberry Bellini’s (please note that these are NOT koolaide drinks as Angela and Kat realized quickly) that tasted just like freshly picked strawberries. However, what struck us the most was the amount light there was.  Not your typical dark Italian restaurant.

The incredible view could be seen from many angles in the restaurant and was especially breathtaking from the patio seating. It felt like we were taken away from the hustle and bustle.   The laughter of the evening was infectious and everyone was a big happy family.

It truly was a night that we will never forget and we are sure that Stella Rossa Ristorante will be a HUGE success.
