During this busy time of year most people are searching for more time. There doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day for all the decorating for the holidays, family, friends, and events that are going on. By organizing your schedule, you’ll create much need time in your life for the things that matter most during the holiday season. Use these tips to increase down time, and decrease stress.
Write it down: Nothing is more frustrating than trying to remember all the times of your appointments and places that you need to be. Writing down your appointments and errands that you need to run will take the stress out of trying to remember. My personal preference is a hand held planer. However, you don’t need something fancy to keep track of everything. Dry erase boards are great make great monthly or weekly planners that the whole family can see and participate in.
Prioritize: If you have 50 things to do in one day, chances are that they will not get done. Make sure to prioritize your tasks. Less time sensitive items can be moved to a later date, and you will not have to worry about them today.
Try Time Saving Devices: Think of how many hours a month you spend doing the little things like social media, typing, watering your plants, or trying to find room for all your holiday items. There are many devices on the market today that can help you save time. Take a few minutes to research on the web what items can help you with the things that you do frequently. By investing now, you might save a lot of time later.
Take A Timeout: Stress can be hard on the body and the mind. It’s important to take time out for you. Find out what helps you relax, whether it’s woodworking, taking a hot bath, shopping, or working out, make sure that you do something that will help you keep your sanity. Everyone is different, so make sure that you take enough time out for your preference. This could mean 30 minutes every day or 30 minutes a week.
By utilizing these tips you’ll be on your way to a stress-free holiday season. Moreover, you’ll have time for the things that matter, like spending time doing the things that you love.
